I was the 1st chair tnorbome player in the Snow College Jazz Band when I first met Brad. We became friends right away, and eventually roommates in off-campus housing. Brad had stacks of punk albums I had never seen or heard before, and this really helped expand my musical influences. The college needed a new drum set for the Jazz program so Brad, Wally (1st chair sax in jazz band), Doug (drummer in jazz band) and I decided to put together a concert to help raise money for the purchase. Brad quickly wrote 14 original songs, Wally belted out the lyrics, Doug kept the beat and I did my best playing ?two-fingered? bass on the Rickenbacker that I obtained to play the show. We called ourselves Karma, and our one and only show was a huge success. When I think back on those days, I realize how important they were. That experience changed the direction of my life?s musical path, and I?ve enjoyed playing bass (and now a bit of guitar) and singing lead and backup vocals since that time. Thanks Brad, you have been a good life-long friend.Matthew
